Go the Magpies! OR maybe not...

OK, so I was a fan of the old league team, the Western Suburbs Magpies, but today I was not a fan - well not a fan of the ’real’ magpie, the bird. (go you tigers!)

While riding along, minding my own business after a fantastic Nando’s wrap (pricey but still fantastic), something felt really weird, there was a swooping sound. Not game enough to look up I hunched down really close to the bars and then I noticed the shadow, yep there right above me was a wing span, not sure how far above me but I wasnt going to chance it.

Thankfully I was going downhill so I downshifted the trusty campy gears and gunned it. A couple more swoops and then the shadow vanished.

First attempted magpie attack of the season, and an early one to. For those of you that ride out on the Windsor Rd cycleway, this happened just out of Rouse Hill shopping centre, in between it and the Ettamogah pub.

Speaking of Rouse Hill shopping centre, I always stop in at my favourite cycle shop whenever I visit, the Trek Bicycle Store. Today’s visit didnt let me down, I have a real soft spot for naked carbon...

But with a spare $10k I could have one hell of a bike!
